Party Locally - The Cost to Goodness Ratio.

There is a super mathematical method I use to make all big decisions in my life. It’s called the “Cost to Goodness Ratio”. How good will something be in comparison to how much it will cost (financially, physically, mentally). Planning a bachelorette party is all about creating high “goodness” for low cost.

There is no doubt that travelling for a bachelorette party can open you up to adventures which are usually inaccessible, but there is a huge financial obligation and burden that gets put on those who are invited.

When hosting an event locally you dramatically cut associated costs. Flights, accommodation, transport costs *ding* all gone! These alone might cost upwards of $1000 per person… and that’s before you have even started to pay for the fun stuff! Let’s be honest, your guests were unlikely to feel that they had received lots of “goodness” for that high cost.

By hosting your party locally you:

  • dramatically increase the number of guests able to attend;

  • try fun things in your local area that you would ordinarily put off;

  • decrease the financial burden and stress for your guests; and

  • support the local tourism industry.

“Sure, It’s cheaper to Party In Canberra, but what about the amazing adventures we can only have somewhere else!?” I hear you say. Ohh my cherubs, think about the amazing adventures you can have locally! Let’s take an imaginary $1000 and imagine spending it locally on fun things!

  • Hot Air Balloon $380 p/p (give or take depending on time of year/ demand)

  • 14 lap race at PowerKart Raceway $35 p/p

  • 1 hour learning how to Stand on a Paddleboard with the SUPing Caveman $60 p/p

  • A few hours at a beauty spa $200 p/p

  • Makeup professionally done $100 p/p

  • Degustation with matched wine at The Boat House $165 p/p

  • Lets spend the last $60 p/p on cocktails in the bar of your choice

Boom! $1000 spent living like freekin’ royalty! Now, tell me, how do you want to spend your $1000? Sitting on a plane next to someone who thinks that the armrest is theirs (or worse, that you are their arm rest)? Or Partying In Canberra? Yup. That’s what I thought.
