Heartfelt and Handmade is Exhausting

There. I've said it. It's out in the universe.

The perfect hen's party is in the details, but the details don't have to be tiny abnoxious, super annoying, little things that take up waaaaay too much time. Lets face it, the little details are mostly overlooked by most guests, and you'll spend several hours obsessing over Pinterest in search of perfection, while trying not to fall asleep at your laptop.

So here's my hot tip of the day: don't do it. Just don't. Go for easy, big impact styling and use our sneaky shortcuts.

Pick Venues Which Already Look Amazing

If your venue looks a bit shitty you'll feel the need to put lots of effort into hiding that fact. Solve the problem by choosing a venue which makes a statement by itself.

Use Big Decorations

When your decorations are big it makes it look like you put a huge amount of effort into decorating and styling. Spell out BRIDE in big helium balloons - If you shop at the right place it's $12 per balloon inflated. Hang stunning fabric on a wall for a selfie booth background using 3M tape. Get some super trendy looking inflatable pool toys for $10 from Cotton on Kids and use them as feature decorations, Big. Pretty. Done.

Don't Do Party Favours

Have you ever been to a party and thought to yourself "mutherfuckers... there aren't any party favours here. This is bullshit!" No. No you haven't... because you are a normal, sane and reasonable person. It's more likely that you've thought "ohh, party favours. That's a tacky thing that i'll put in the bin when I get home". Save time. Nobody cares. Don't do it.

Digital Invites

Don't spend 12 hours perfectly hand crafting a bunch of multi layered shiny bit of paper with ribbons and embossing. Send your guests and e-vite - then they don't have to feel guilty for throwing out your invite in a few weeks.

Decorate With Things You Already Own

You are a good looking lady, with a good looking house. The other bridesmaids are also good looking and have good looking things in their houses. Bring these good looking people with their good looking things to your good looking venue and Hey Presto! Your party looks amazing!

At the end of the day, it's one party, and nobody gives a crap about the details. I have learnt this the hard way. Good food. Good drinks. Simple styling, Amazing company. It's all you need.
