High Tea At Adore Tea Gold Creek

I remember when Adore Tea Gold Creek was first opened. I was still in university and my girlfriends were obsessed. They’d talk about tea’s they’d tried, and make recommendations to each other. They all knew each other’s tea preferences so well. Adore Tea Gold Creek has a massive tea selection and the girls were capturing and sampling all the flavours as though they were Pokémon… but instead of finding a Pokéstop they were sitting at Adore cuddled up under blankets.

As Canberran’s we tend to fall in love with new restaurants and cafés. We are completely enamoured with them for a while, then a new venue captures our attention and we move on. We unintentionally forget about our old favourites, and my friends and I had done this with Adore Tea Gold Creek.

I received an unexpected email from the new owner Holly, inviting me to the VIP launch of their new spring high tea menu. I was instantly REALLY looking forward to the experience, the same feeling you get when you don’t talk to one of your besties for a while.

The beautiful Holly took over about 6 months ago. In this time Holly has started to change things up and make the place her own. She has mixed the things that have always made Adore Tea Gold Creek unique with her own vision of what the business needs. The menu and the experience have been overhauled, making it fresh and new. There are still more changes to come, with plans in motion to renovate their outdoor area, creating a stunning space for high tea weddings.

I’ve always loved a high tea for bachelorette parties, and baby showers. It’s a style of event that can be enjoyed by guests of varying ages, and anybody growing a tiny human in their belly. Everyone loves the experience of indulging and celebrating with their tribe, and it can be as proper or playful as you’d like it to be.

The thing that sets Adore Tea Gold Creek’s high tea apart from any other in Canberra is that it’s a high tea for tea lovers. Everything within the high tea is inspired by, infused with, or designed to complement tea. The team are incredibly knowledgeable about their products, articulating how the flavours work together in a way that would rival some of the best restaurants in Canberra.

Savory Service Adore Tea Gold Creek

Their spring high tea begins with strawberries and champagne, as all good high tea’s do. Those who’d prefer something non-alcoholic, get to enjoy a delicious Turkish apple iced tea in a champagne glass with a strawberry. It looks the same as the champagne, so those who enjoy a social drink, but are unable to have alcohol don’t feel as though they are missing out. (Big loving shout out to those struggling through their 9 months of sobriety… I mean those creating a life and loving every minute of it)

My personal highlights from the spring high tea menu were the salmon canapes, lavender iced tea, macaroons, blooming tea (because it’s beautiful), and their mix of finger cut sandwiches. Note: Finger sandwiches are to adults as triangle sandwiches are to kids -They are just better.

Sweet Service Adore Tea Gold Creek

Once our high tea had finished (and we were nursing our food babies) there was a very obvious rush of people heading to purchase new tea’s they now love, or restock their cupboards with their old favourites. A great way to continue to enjoy the tea lover’s experience at home once your high tea celebration is complete, and make sure your expansive Pokémon… I mean tea collection… continues to grow.

High tea at Adore Tea Gold Creek is a time for feeling relaxed and indulging. It’s like falling down the rabbit hole into a happy place away from your day to day life. This is what makes it so perfect to celebrate life events like birthdays, bachelorette parties, & baby showers. It’s a place for laughing, bonding and just generally feeling happy, and you need to go enjoy it for yourself.
