My Best Friend's Bachelorette - Part 3

So much fun and the real party hasn't even started yet!

We've had the mother daughter moment, the Bride & MOH ran up a mountain in their underwear, we enjoyed champagne with a view, had lunch & cocktails at Kinn Thai; pampered the Bride with make-up at Napoleon, and the Bride Tribe got party ready in the Hotel.

The Scavenger Hunt

As the ladies arrived in Glebe Park we handed them a very civilised cup of Pimms to enjoy in the sunshine. The added bonus of a small amount of alcohol in the system was that inhibitions were slightly lowered ready for the ultimate scavenger hunt.

The ladies were divided into teams and handed a list of things they needed to take photos of and post to Instagram with our hashtag for the day (we'd love to see your photos tagged with #PartyInCanberra!).

The scavenger hunt reflected the bride's love of capturing fun and happy moments in photo form, and each item on the list reflected something about her personality, and her groom.

Ready, set, off you go! The guests went off to complete their challenges, while the bridesmaids went to finish setting up the real party.

I was doing the super tough job of looking glamorous and keeping score of the scav hunt (yes, that's my Pimms cup next to me,).

It turned out that our party guests were channelling their inner overachievers. Bonus points were awarded for hilarity... and let me tell you, while I was scoring I was in utter stitches. This group of girls left me struggling to breathe, by abs in agony from laughing so hard!

In the end all teams found everything on the list (lesson learnt - make the list way way longer than you think you'll need!). A champion team was crowned based on who had the most creativity, enthusiasm, and hilarity.

Since the party I have had people talk to me about why the photos were posted to instagram, and the reason is simple. Social media allowed the bride, and the rest of the groups to see what each team were doing both during, and after the party. It increased competitiveness and allowed the teams to feel more connected to each other while separated on their adventures.

My favourite thing about a photographic scavenger hunt is that the guests are capturing their hilarious memories for the bride and the rest of the tribe to enjoy and giggle about for years to come, and at the end of the day, making memories is what it's really all about.
